1. Before booking
Disclose behaviour, aggression, escape risk, illness, medication, allergies, reproductive status and contact with animals. Confirm owner, backup and veterinarian contacts, emergency spending authority and suitable equipment. Decline care if compatibility or safety is uncertain.
2. During care
No cruelty, intimidation, unsafe restraint, unprescribed medicine or foreseeable dangerous abandonment. Follow Petail capacity limits, separate incompatible animals, protect keys and private information, and never transfer care to another person without clear owner approval.
3. Emergency and missing pet
Remove immediate danger without increasing risk. Call 112 for a human life or health emergency and a competent veterinary clinic for an animal emergency. Notify the owner, backup contact and Petail immediately. If they cannot be reached, take reasonable proportionate steps to prevent death or suffering based on prior instructions and veterinary advice.
For a missing pet, preserve evidence, search safely, contact relevant authorities, shelters, veterinarians and chip registers where appropriate, and avoid publishing exact private addresses or access codes.
4. Incident evidence and zero tolerance
Record facts, time, place, actions and professional contacts without publicly disclosing personal health or contact data. Theft, deliberate injury, neglect, abandonment, falsification or deliberate failure to return an animal may result in immediate suspension, evidence preservation and cooperation with competent authorities.
